  • Full Life = Fulfilled Life
  • We live in a chaotic world where many things are experienced in extremes. Learning to stay present, cope through, and find a space of emotional equity allows us to become centered and create balance. The goal is not to be happy all the time. The goal is to create a life worth showing up in, even when it is challenging.
  • NOTHING is just in your head. Your emotions are experienced throughout your whole body – that’s why we call them “feelings”. Trauma is not just about a single experience, contained within the moment in time that it’s actually happening. It is pervasive and creeps into all areas of your life.
  • The very nature of trauma is that it is so overwhelming that your normal tools for doing life don’t work anymore and trying to pretend normal just feels like trying to nail Jell-o to the wall. When it feels like your body is stuck in survival mode, you won’t feel safe enough to relax. This means you can’t reconnect with yourself or anyone else. In survival mode, your relationships will suffer. It might even change the way you see the world. In survival mode people make emotional overcorrections and “rules” believing they are keeping themselves safe, but those “rules” only wind up creating even more pain. These overcorrections are normal but they are also damaging.
  • Whether you don’t know or you’ve forgotten, you have a choice to heal.
  • Full Life Counseling is all about holding space to facilitate healing for people who are willing to do the work. Sometimes that work feels like a chore, it’s definitely uncomfortable, sometimes it’ll even feel like it’s kicking your butt. The reward is that you create a new, fulfilling life for yourself. If you’re willing to do the work, you can thrive.
  • I grew up as an “Army brat”, and later served in the U.S. Army, I am a former military spouse, and dog lover. I am a believer in the power of mindfulness, gratitude and creating empowered meaning as part of the healing process. I am a LGBTQ+ ally and have completed continuing education to increase understanding of LGBTQ+ Affirmative Counseling.
  • I work with military, veterans, law enforcement officers and first responders. I specialize in the treatment of acute stress, PTSD, military sexual trauma and chronic and/or complex PTSD.
  • I am an EMDR Therapist and Approved Consultant meaning that I view all clinical work through the Adaptive Information Processing lens and use EMDR as my primary therapeutic intervention.
  • I hold a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I have additional training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) & TFT Tapping, I use Mindfulness skills and other body based approaches as a complement to EMDR. I am also experienced in applying Pia Mellody’s Post-Induction Therapy (PIT) Model also known as the Model of Developmental Immaturity.
  • I am an Arizona native. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University and graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP), am DBT trained and am in the process of completing the NERPSC (National Emergency Responder & Public Safety Center) Certification.
  • I am passionate about mental health and it is my goal to help others achieve fulfillment and realize their potential.
  • I am a bookworm, an animal lover, and I enjoy drawing and working on any kind of puzzle. You can find me caring for my many pets in my spare time.
  • I grew up in Phoenix, AZ, but I also spent time living in Tacoma, WA and Boulder, CO.
  • I am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Counseling and Certification in Art Therapy through Prescott College. I one day hope to work with adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and help veterans readjust to civilian life.
  • When I’m not at FLC or doing schoolwork, I can be found collecting rocks in the forest, trying new recipes, or working on ceramics, watercolor, and acrylic paintings.
  • Is an Australian Shepherd – business in the front and wiggle in the back. Jack is a gentle boy, lover of cuddles, fetch, squeaky & rope toys, and peanut butter based treats.
  • Jack has a detached retina in his right eye and can be shy at first.  Because he does not have a clear line-of-sight to the door, when he hears the chime, he may “alert” me because he is excited to see you. While we know that he does not mean to be rude, we are still actively working on this behavior with positive reinforcement. We honor his boundaries by letting him take his time to warm up to humans and deciding when he is ready for cuddles.
