Full Life Counseling

Care That Goes Beyond Coping

You've done enough surviving.

It’s time to actually heal.

  • You're the one who holds it together.

At some point, insight alone stops being enough. You can understand your patterns, name your triggers, & still find yourself right back in the same cycles - overextending, overthinking, & quietly burning out.

OUR Services

Therapy Services

Full Life Counseling is Veteran Owned & Operated.

 This work is different.

We’ll focus on what’s underneath the patterns using structured, depth-oriented approaches that create real shifts, not just temporary relief.

Coping will get you through the day but healing changes how you live.

I do NOT offer services for addictions, couples or family therapy. If the services offered are not the appropriate level of care or are outside my scope of practice I will offer appropriate referrals when possible.

Full Life Counseling AZ offers individual, EMDR extended sessions & Intensives, & group therapy.

You’ve probably already done a lot of work on yourself. You’re insightful, self-aware, and the one people can count on. From the outside, it looks like you’re handling it. On the inside, it’s a different story – burnout, overwhelm, or patterns that won’t shift no matter how much you understand them.

That’s where I come in.

I’m Dana Strickland, I grew up as an “Army brat”, and later served in the U.S. Army. Now I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Brainspotter, & EMDR Consultant. I specialize in trauma, high-functioning overwhelm, & helping women move out of survival mode in a way that actually lasts.

My approach is structured, direct, & deeply intentional. I use Brainspotting, EMDR, somatic work, & mindfulness-based strategies to help your nervous system process what insight alone can’t resolve because this work goes beyond coping.

We’re not here to keep managing the same cycles – we’re here to change them.

You can expect honesty, collaboration, & a space where you don’t have to perform, prove, or hold everything together. I’ll meet you with warmth, but I won’t collude with the patterns that are keeping you stuck.

I also incorporate tools like the Enneagram to deepen self-understanding & I’m open to weaving in spiritually diverse practices when they resonate with you – including mindfulness, energy work, & tarot or oracle cards as reflective tools. This work is about honoring your full life experience – not forcing you into a one-size-fits-all process.

Jack, my Australian Shepherd, is often part of the space. He’s blind in one eye, deeply intuitive, & has a way of helping your nervous system settle without trying.

Between the two of us, you’ll be supported – & gently challenged – in all the ways that actually help you create change.

I offer individual therapy both in-person and telehealth for adult clients in Arizona and telehealth only services in Texas.

  • I am an Arizona native. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University and graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP), am DBT trained and am in the process of completing the NERPSC (National Emergency Responder & Public Safety Center) Certification.
  • I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) with a passion for helping adults who feel stuck in old patterns or overwhelmed. Many of my clients are navigating major life transitions or relationship challenges, and often put a lot of pressure on themselves to act like everything is fine even when it feels like things are falling apart behind the scenes.
  • Whether you’re facing anxiety, communication struggles, or simply trying to figure out who you are and what you need, I strive to create a safe and collaborative space to figure out what’s been keeping you stuck. I work well with introspective individuals who want to deepen self-awareness, manage emotions more effectively, and ultimately move toward a life that feels more grounded and aligned.
  • I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support healing and personal growth. My approach is warm, thoughtful, and rooted in evidence-based techniques that help you build emotional resilience, develop healthier relationships, and navigate life’s challenges.
  • Is an Australian Shepherd – business in the front and wiggle in the back. Jack is a gentle boy, lover of cuddles, fetch, squeaky & rope toys, and peanut butter based treats.
  • Jack has a detached retina in his right eye and can be shy at first.  Because he does not have a clear line-of-sight to the door, when he hears the chime, he may “alert” me because he is excited to see you. While we know that he does not mean to be rude, we are still actively working on this behavior with positive reinforcement. We honor his boundaries by letting him take his time to warm up to humans and deciding when he is ready for cuddles.
